Delaware Bay

We were very lucky crossing the Delaware Bay. If you hit this with an out going tide and incoming winds one can have seven foot waves. We had one footers all the way. We did have some fog but visibility was a couple of miles. You can see the cooling tower for a power plant in the following picture
The only large waves we hit were from the wakes of large container ships.

We also ran into many large fishing boats. These boats came from Cape May and ran down the Cape May canal to the Bay

For my power squadron friends, can you tell me what the large square returns on my RADAR are?

The Cape May canal is in front of us and we had a great day on the Bay. 50 plus miles of one footers.
