St Michael's MD & Thomas Point Light

St Michael’s is a very old town, most of the new housing is built to look like an 18th century home.
Greg and I spent an afternoon at the St. Michael’s Maritime Museum. Check out the large shot gun on the boat used to kill ducks in the good old days when you could shoot while they were in the water.
There were many good examples of different sail boats designed for the bay area.

How could one’s steering be more simple then just a line running around the steering wheel?

This is an instrument panel from a 1955 Owens Power Boat, looks like an automobile’s front panel of the same time period.

The sail boat behind the “Skip Jack” is what navigates the boat out of the bay. Once they start harvesting oysters the boat must be out of the water and rigged to the sail boat (no power). This is part of the conservation effort to “Save the Bay” from over fishing.

This next shot shows the Susan Darlene on the bay just before passing by the Thomas Point Shoal lighthouse.

The famous Thomas Point Shoal lighthouse as we head into Annapolis, MD.
