Chesapeake Bay: Deltaville, VA

We left the York River on May 25th and headed to Deltaville, VA on the Rappahannock River. Here we are passing the lighthouse on the bay. We stayed Doziers Marina over the Memorial Day holiday.

As we pull into the river Sue wakes up Lisa Marie

At Dozier’s Regatta Point Yachting Center the “Waterway Guide” series of books are published here

Greg is at the wheel as we follow the T/T Double SS going to dinner by dingy.

Sally gives Greg Navigation instructions as Sue watches.

Lot’s of rental property right on the water, only one appears to have an engine and it was not underway.

We had dinner and libations at CoCoMo’s, on the left: Howard, Diana, Greg and Sally. On the right: Ski, Sue, Woody and Ellen.

Did I mention libations? Happy hour on the Double SS.

We had a looper dinner at the marina and cooked some wonderful burgers.

It was party night at CoCoMo’s. We’re missing Greg and Sally who have gone up river to anchor out for the holiday.

The deck fluff just had to dance.

On the way back we had to hold the navigation lights by hand.

Notice our stern light holder and the Capt.

We won’t mention the boat trying to become a submarine. Howard gave us ample warning as the water came in over the bow.

We hope to see Howard, Diana, Woody, Ellen, Greg and Sally in the Chicago area for a reunion one of these days. They are all fun people who love to cruise.
