Bald Head Island

We have arrived at Bald Head Island and Sally is shaving Greg's head before she shaves his back. :-)

The trawler to the starboard of the Susan Darlene is owned by Greg and Sally Whitaker from Michigan. We have been cruising with them since Thunderbolt, GA.

Everyone on the island use golf carts to get around except the construction people. This car ferry comes a couple of times a day.
Greg is blowing his Conch horn at sunset. Sometimes another boater will respond.

The island church.

The inside of the island church.

The making of a beach. Sand is being send in from the inlet where a dreger is located.

The old man of the sea.

The gang coming home after a day of shelling.

The perfect house on the Ocean to rent for a family get together.

This one of 8 sections that held up the old Cape Fear Lighthouse.

This is the site of the old Cape Fear Lighthouse.

Sue and Sally. Pilot and navigator.

A ship is coming in the inlet from the Ocean into the Cape Fear River.

Every house on this island are different and very beautiful.

The Susan Darlene on the left and Greg and Sally's boat on the right.

The ferry comes every half hour. In this season most of the people are construction workers.

We have seen many different types of golf carts on the island.

The owner of this golf cart must be a boater. He has running lights. His dog is waiting for him while he's having a cool one.

Check out his steering wheel.
