Georgetown to Mrytle Beach SC

We're on the face dock at Georgetown, SC at slack tide.
Check out the cleats used at this marina.

Here is a group of Boston Whalers that are doing a weekend cruise from NC. They stayed at the hotel right next to the marina. You can see the tide is rising by the current on the water.

This appears to be a great area for sport fishing.

We actually did see alligators by a restaurant in downtown Georgetown. We got a cab ride in an old beat up station wagon to town for $3.00.

Low tide at Georgetown, SC.

Be careful when you see Tow Boat US boats or signs about Tow Boat US, one knows there is troubled waters ahead.

There are many busy sections on the ICW.

Boat for Sale.

Meet Tom and Gerry aboard their 28 foot trawler. They have the cutest dog aboard and do a lot of cruising, Tom also retired from AT&T.

We passed thru some beautiful areas in SC.

This looks like a normal swing bridge for auto traffic but it should not be there. The federal government built a 65 foot bridge just half a football field South. The locals just loved their old bridge so they made it a historic land mark that can never be taken down, what a waste of federal dollars.

The railroad bridge stays open until a train arrives.

This home owner on the ICW put a statue by the waterway that looks like a man waving. A good way to have a boat slow down and thus have a smaller wake.

This is Barefoot landing, SC. You can dock free and do some shopping at the mall.

This guy takes his car with him. We have seen him at anchor in Charleston, SC.

A Tow Boat US brings back a sailboat into Myrtle Beach Yacht Club.
Sue met the cutest little guy on the dock. He is five and asked many questions about our boat. He really knows about boats as he told her we should have diesel engines instead of gas. When he saw Lisa on the boat he asked "Permission to come aboard". Too cute!

Hi Sue & Ski,

Looks like your trip is progressing very well and the adventures just keep getting better and better! We think of you often. We'll be heading back to IL 4/26 and are getting anxious to see family again.

Pat & Loren
