TSW: Trent Severn Waterway

Meet Dave Jiles, the lockmaster for locks 11 and 12. The locks close at 7:00 PM but this set of locks closes at 6:45PM because it takes time to go through both. Dave had heard that we we’re running on one engine (more about this soon) and waited for us to come. By the time we made it to the second lock it was after 7:30. He doesn’t get paid any extra for this. He wears “Crocks” every day and look at sun tan he gets.

After lock 6 we hid a large rock hard. We damaged both props, and bend the starboard shaft. While the diver was changing the props a beaver swam by.

We were not the only ones to hit bottom. These people have been on the hard for a week while their boat is getting repaired.

At Cambelford they had a motorcycle show and many old bikes were there.
